Courtesy, Manners & Morals -
Reflections of Reb Zadok / Part 1
Item #: 0907
"Common courtesy" as the world at large understands it is very different than the Torah value of "derech eretz." Jews must treat people with honor because we view each person is a creation of God. The Torah view, starkly contrasted against those cultures of the world that were renowned for their politeness despite their savagery in war, shines through as the only true expression of morality and humaneness.
