The Haftorah for the first day of Pesach is from the Book of Joshua and records the Jewish people’s beginnings in Land of Israel. Opening with the story of mass circumcision upon entry into the Land and concluding with the siege on Jericho, all these momentous events represent the Jewish people in the height of their loyalty to God.
