At first glance, the story of the prophet Jeremiah's purchase of his cousin's property seems simple and straightforward, but when Rabbi Wein fills in the background, we see a much deeper spiritual message. This purchase, made while Jeremiah was imprisoned for his prophecy, teaches that though our exile is bitter and harsh, we need never lose faith that G-d will return us to our land.
