Item Description:

Nathan Birnbaum was a fascinating figure in Jewish History. He was what one would call in modern times a true Baal Teshuva. A prolific writer and journalist, he wrote under many pen names. Birnbaum had three main phases in his life. The first had him representing Zionist causes, the next had him promoting Jewish cultural causes such as the use of the Yiddish language and the third and final was when he embraced orthodox Judaism and became the spokesperson for the new Agudath Israel movement which was staunchly anti-Zionist. This lecture will take you through all phases of his life and leave you with a broader view of this time in history.
